At West Eastern Health, we understand that mental health is a critical component of overall well-being, especially for those struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, post-partum depression or fibromyalgia. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), anxiety disorders are the most common mental health issues among adults in the United States. About 19.1% of adults experienced some form of anxiety disorder in the past year. These disorders encompass a range of conditions, including panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and various phobias.

Following anxiety disorders, major depression is the next most prevalent mental health condition. In 2021, around 21 million adults, or approximately 8.3% of the U.S. adult population, reported experiencing at least one major depressive episode. The data also indicates that depression occurs more frequently in women than in men.

Women are more likely than men to experience depression

Almost 4x as many men commit suicide as women

The Impact of COVID-19 on Mental Health

In early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought numerous challenges worldwide. To curb the virus’s spread, many people adopted social distancing measures, reduced social interactions, and transitioned to remote work. These changes led to a significant rise in mental health and substance use issues. In 2020:

  • 45.2% of adults with a mental illness felt that the pandemic negatively affected their mental health.
  • 14.5% of adolescents reported increasing their alcohol consumption compared to before the pandemic.
  • 10.7% of adults were unable to access the mental health services they needed, resulting in moderate to severe impacts on their health.

Our team of experienced therapists utilizes a range of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other tailored modalities. Each treatment plan is customized to meet the unique needs of the individual, ensuring that therapy is both effective and supportive. By pairing these approaches with ketamine treatment, we can help patients access deeper layers of healing and overcome barriers that may have hindered progress in the past. Our therapists and healthcare professionals are trained to integrate ketamine sessions seamlessly with other therapeutic modalities, providing a holistic treatment experience that addresses both the biochemical and psychological aspects of mental health.

At West Eastern Health, we are committed to walking alongside our patients on their journey to recovery. Our goal is to empower individuals with the tools and support they need to reclaim their lives and achieve lasting mental wellness. Whether you are seeking relief from chronic mental health issues or looking for a new approach after previous treatments have fallen short, our team is here to provide the highest quality care tailored to your specific needs.
